Guest Room Collateral Program
Sea shells, indigenous flowers and a graphic pattern of bamboo convey a sense of the natural beauty of Lana’i in this guest collateral program. When extensive renovations began in the fall of 2012, DJP was retained to design new collateral in harmony with the natural island surroundings and consistent with new design for all interior spaces. One hundred percent (post consumer) recycled papers feature prominently in concert with the resort’s sustainability effort. ﷯

Dining
Continuing the focus on the distinctive nature of Lana’i, DJP created the name One Forty for the resort’s steakhouse and all day restaurant. One Forty refers to the square miles of the island and just happens to also be the correct temperature of a medium grilled steak. Richly toned bamboo panels were etched with an abstract map of the island topography to create a unique menu for dinner. Restaurant brands were designed for Kailani—overlooking the beach—recalling the nightly torch ceremony and The Sports Bar where letterforms interact on a field like players in a game. As a perennial guest room item and always in view, design for the in-room dining menu (“Feeling Hungry”) followed other guest room collateral, but was enlivened with metallic foil. ﷯
